Colts Battle Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I hope on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (7-2) take on the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the first in the capital city.

Pregame Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the singer belting out the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are ever likely to see. Loving the sartorial choices today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Elegant.

First Quarter Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have early drama after the Colts running back receives a short throw, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then fumbles … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the excitement continues as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver cannot reel in a fastball from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and fumbles the football.

A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Oops.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.
