The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are facing an painful wait for official news and requesting clues about their children via social media.
The blaze ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified footage reveal the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.
Emergency services have warned that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the disaster, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and injured another over a hundred. Authorities stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with work continuing to name the other six.
