Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
The Belarusian player ended the tour with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".
