Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Success also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four early opportunities in a close third set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
